Four hectares of volcanic land and slow hospitality on Pantelleria, Sicily
Parco dei Sesi occupies four hectares on the island of Pantelleria, nested within the Parco Archeologico dei Sesi—an archaeological park dating back 2000 years BC. The property sits on the island's west coast, surrounded by kilometers of ancient ruins in Mediterranean scrub, volcanic peaks, and the sea. Located 200 meters from the coast and a ten-minute walk from Cala Punta Fram, the estate faces the Mediterranean and the African horizon. The property is family-owned and shaped by a family of artists. A historic dammuso and twelve bedrooms are arranged within traditional Pantelleria volumes—the local architectural form built from volcanic stone with 80-centimeter-thick walls and domed roofs designed to channel rainwater into underground cisterns. The interiors balance volcanic materiality with contemporary design, natural textures, and timeless pieces from the owners' collection of art and antiques. Every room and corner has been designed by the owners. Bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning; seven bedrooms offer the option of twin beds, allowing the property to accommodate eighteen to twenty guests. The Grande Dammuso serves as the main villa. The retreat operates as a complete estate rental for wellness and private gatherings. A 40-square-meter studio with arched windows facing the sea includes an indoor plunge pool and steam room. Rooftop terraces become outdoor practice spaces at sunrise and sunset, immersed in nature and overlooking the sea. The property features a 12-by-6-meter pool with sea and sunset views, a solarium with palms, and several hidden corners organically shaped in circles for opening and closing ceremonies. A wood-fired oven produces weekly pizza using local produce. The kitchen operates on farm-to-table principles. In 2024, the family expanded farm operations across Sicily: Parco dei Sesi produces exclusive volcanic olive oil and capers on the island; a second farm in Salemi, Sicily, grows organic vegetables and fruits exclusively for guest consumption. The restaurant, opened to non-residents in 2025, serves Mediterranean cuisine prepared by passionate Sicilians. Dining occurs on rooftops, in private circular gardens, at common tables in caper fields, or beneath palms. Catering adapts to retreat programs and dietary requirements. Curated experiences include boat tours, private sailing excursions, enoturismo volcanico (wine tourism exploring UNESCO-protected farming traditions), guided island excursions, and visits to the anti-conformist art studio of artist Filippo Panseca. Wellness services include custom regenerative programs, deep healing massage, and yoga classes designed by on-site therapists. The property is adult-only for security reasons unless the entire estate is privatized.
